Sunday morning

Out for 5am this morning. Home and one cup of tea. Tried to finish this blog but fell asleep until 7.30.  Really cold and really really miserable. This is father's day in June 2018. Last afternoon it rained. It rained so hard it watered the plants outside and in. I had to scrabble about finding things to catch the water poring in through the roof which was forming a river and water feature very very quickly in the sun room.
Yes I was going to get this 1970s lean to rebuilt. Yes I had a company come around and give me a price which I agreed upon and signed up for the work to go ahead on a monthly payment scheme for the next ten years.......I then phoned up and cancelled the whole fiasco as I could not afford it without working at least another ten hours in overtime a week. I thought about it....Did I really want to be working overtime for ten years on top of the hours I already do? no. not a lot. Then all over time was stopped any way! So basically I can afford to live here just....but it leaks,,,,,,
As you see. it is not a great day. I am not great today either so that makes us all the same. I did a double shift yesterday. I started at 8am then finished at 11.30......then went back for 5pm....really wrecked the day. It was Otley carnival. I would have liked to go. But by the time I got out of work and changed to go we would never have parked. So I just hung around waiting for the next shift. This just made me miserable.......
This week father came up on the bus to see us. I was already miserable  so I figured it could not get worse,.....then it got much worse.
Father did all the usual stuff...bringing me wool left overs from his wife's knitting projects. I have a huge over flowing bag. I got fed up with knitting about a year ago. I was knitting doll clothes......
I made him a cup of coffee. We had all the usual play acting slurping and yumming and then he launched into a diatribe....about? probably the insurance from the car he crashed.
Remember the patio he had built? the garden he totally destroyed and got flung into a skip at the great expence of £3,500??? The only feature still remaining was three squares filled with gravel  .....the rest was just paving stones. Well the paving stones were not set correctly and have now started to rock.
Words failed me.
Whilst the work went on he was there the whole time.........asleep in his chair. So he got a bodged job for his £3,500 quid because they thought he was an old duffer.
Around the tarn I went. The swan was out with her cygnets.....
I met two canada geese having breakfast......I walked quickly as it is very and I repeat very cold.
I was kind of hoping for a sun rise through the clouds. It was not happening...so I walked around the Tarn the other way to usual.....
A lot of the birds were still on the ground having their breakfast.....

The three Gemimas.....heading to the water.
 Loads more Canada Geese......
 more Canada geese....

So sunday 17th June and Father's day. I had a gobby kid as a customer yesterday. This family I have met before. The kid never shuts up....
"Sally!!!! It's Father's day tomorrow. You gettin' yer Dad a present? No? Why not? You going te put flowers on his grave? Why not.....Danby? whers that? 1967? When's that? Sally? From the 1960's? what's that then. It's Father's day...yer goin' te buy him a present? what ter goin' te get him? I got my dad a present......."

Well that is that. It is time to go. it is time to put on my work outfit and go.
we have forgotton to buy dinner for sunday.I know if I either put on a slow cooker or leave instructions to put on the steamer it will be okay  when I come home. otherwise there will be none. so I forgot yesterday to make sure...so no dinner either now. pox.
