Otley on a Friday as every week. The first junk shop we went in yielded a Barbie doll.....no year on the back of the head! 1970's type face articulated body and flat feet......dressed in what looks like something from a Spanish souvenir doll.
walking up the road we found two bright orange beach buggys on the way to.....where? Must be just out for a drive as Whitby is about an hour and a half away and Otley is not really on the direct route.....
We passed the market and lots of shops filled with lovely little things...like flamingos, china dogs. sparkly jewellery discounted books , coffee houses pubs and many clothes stalls....
We went to the 20p shop and the 99p shop. I managed to buy only two DVd's........this is a failure to me as the 99p shop had a sale buy 4 get one free......And I could not find 4 things I liked!!! what is it all about eh? Have I lost it?
So we went to the Victorian arcade.....Past the £1.00 clothes stall.....yorkshire food stall with free samples. I went into the curiosity shop like my house....
There was nothing new. I found nothing to buy here either.....
Past the Navvies monument......by the church. There was a choir practice this week...so I did not go inside.
We crossed the road and passed the "antique shop"....there was a lovely flamingo metal sculpture.....
Through the market again...just to make sure.....and then lastly to the pet shop to buy some more goldfish for my garden pond.......
We bought two.....I want more but a heron got to all my others . Now that there is more places to hide the fish may last longer.....
So we walked along to the car having bought lunch. fish and Barbie in one hand and our chocolate eclairs in the other.
Now Saturday morning and I am just getting up to go to ilkley. I have been up...but I am finally admitting that I am tired. I was at work until 10pm last night and that is well late for me.The time went reasonably quick and a whole bottle of vodka was smashed in the entrance and i got to mop it all up.....Fortunately Vodka has no smell..otherwise I would have some explaining to do when I got home stinking like a night out!!!! if only my lovelies...
So this morning .....I got to thinking. The jungle drums have been beating heralding news of a school reunion for Hunmanby Hall. I went online a few days ago to join an old girls site on facebook thinking that I might go!
This morning having looked at the list of people already members I realised that I do not recognise anyone...well not quite...there were about five! that was out of hundreds of members.......I did not fit in at the time...that would be the 1970's....and time has not improved the situation. I cancelled my request to join......There was no hurry to answer my request fortunately, and it had been ignored anyway. Phew!!!!!!
