Telly.

Telly Savalas !. Hell's teeth there is a blast from the long distance of the past . The 1970's, Funny that I remember the 1970's just like I am going to go downstairs for tea and find myself in the kitchen at Hunmanby hall being given the breakfast trolly to take into the staff room. Telly Savalas played Kojak on the telly. We only had three telly channels in those days ...So it would be news.....a quiz show or an American telly series. These were the only choices to be made. We did not even have to think what would be for tea, as we ate whatever would be served in the dining room. Even if it could not be identified.

So Kojak. Telly Savalas. The first thing I saw in the junk shops in Headingly yesterday was a Telly record....vinyl....original from the 1970's. well of course it would be original. Why would anyone want to reproduce this?

Okay for those of you who do not know...Kojak was a hard ass detective who always had a lolly pop in the side of his mouth and said "who loves yer baby!" I have just said to Lee that we should go back and buy the album...
"it will be awful"
" well yes it was at the time. but hey"
"was it as bad as William Shatner?...."

" that was the bench mark. it was quite low......Telly Savalas was up there with mr Shatner....though Don't give up on us baby was my fave David Soul really cornered the market in singing detectives.....( Starsky and Hutch...for those not around in the 1970's)."
KojakTelly Savalas ......IF. A link to you tube.
"hell No !! this is as bad as William Shatner. No you are not buying this. NO NO NO!"
I played him some of this and a track called Dancing Zorba......."that's enough of that then..." he said and went back to watching you tube on how to scrap a television.

We went up stairs in the same shop and found this doll for £20.00. It is a Little beauty by Winfield. These  dolls were made for Woolworths. This one looks to be from the early 1960's. Why did I not buy it? well basically Lee said NO!!! She has a spare pair of wellington boots too.
I told him just what it was and I wanted it. No way was he spending £20.00 on a doll in a box...yes the original box was with it.....any way I looked this up on ebay and found one going for £70.00.
Still not allowed it though.

"why spend £20.00 on a small doll when you bought a bigger one for £8.00 in Otley? you always chuck the boxes anyway"
" not for these dolls I don't".....

So that completed our outing to pick up an old T.elly . We are off to pick up another one today.
the sun is out and we can not take Monza as the Telly is huge this time. It is already too hot to have Monza on the car anyway.
Do you think I should go back and get the doll? Or will I find something as good in Otley on Friday....Who knows!!!!
