A day off. in fact it has worked out that there are four days I am to have off this week. I did not ask for extra hours this week and there were not a lot going anyway. So time off in the sun in west Yorkshire. I am sitting in my log cabin writing this blog ensconced on my soft white leather chair, doors of the cabin open and I am out of the sun whilst being able to enjoy it from the cool. Monza dog is dozing on the cold garage floor. It is hot....hot...very very hot.
My first day off we all stayed home after dog walk. There is a car park under ground at Headingly super market, so we briefly parked Monza there whilst we went to buy lunch and dinner. ....
I had promised Monza that I would spend the day with him. I have been out/ill from being out/or just straight out of it tired. So time off I promised Monza. It is massively too hot to put him in a car for any length of time anyway. So all shinanigans with old churches, stately homes and ruins are out of the question. I had a trip to Whitby in mind. There is no way in this heat...even for me! so in my comfy chair I am.
I did quickly do the junk shops in Headingly. I found them to be much the same as the last time. AND the doll I wanted is still there. Looks like no one else is going topay £20.00 either. I certainly am not.
She is a Winfield doll with original box and extra pair of welly boots. Winfield were Woolworth's manufacturer back in the day....like "the day" being the 1960's I am guessing. On second examination the hair looks a bit thin at the front. If she was not £20.00 I would buy her. I have a birthday coming up. I have tried hinting...but then Lee bought me the Roddy baby doll in Otley supposedly "for my birthday". so fat chance then.....Having said all that though I have my eye on some perfume.....A blast from the 1980's OPIUM!!! I always wore that and got it for Christmas. Those days are no more, but I can get the perfume still.......
I saw a few old vinyl albums in other junk shops...Peter Starsedt!!! oh god....Where do you go to my lovely.....and all that crap. I found that on you tube and played it on the way home.
"bloody awful!" said Lee. "yer not buyin it"
There was David Soul as well......best not though huh?
How about Cat Stevens then? Morning has broken. That could make me howl (the crying kind) that was the head mistress of my schools favourite song. in fact often had to sing it too.....
To day was much the same as yesterday. Hot. Smoke on the water at the Tarn this morning and red hot hot sun for the rest. Planned barbeque for lunch was lit so when the phone rang to invite me to partake of a six hour shift....starting NOW! I turned it down with out a qualm.
barbecued lunch and then sitting in my log cabin on my comfy chair.....why would I turn that down for money? Bollox to Mr Stalker as well. He would have been there with out doubt.
