Smoke on the water.....

Smoke on the water. Yes really. It does not show up in this photo much . By the time I got all the way around the tarn lake it was totalled. a total white out.
Smoke on the water. Written about Lake Geneva  but hey....so this is Yeadon Tarn and to be honest by the time all the smoke on the water was wafting over the park it could have been Lake Geneva as there was not a lot to be seen.
Oh go on then here is a link to Deep Purple...Smoke on the water......SMOKE ON THE WATER.......LINK TO YOU TUBE
"thought this might come up." said Lee handing me my tea "one of the most cheesey rifts to play in a guitar shop......I just used to unplug 'em"
Lee used to work in Fox's Music on the Headrow , Leeds. He was the guitar department.
" really really stop it now.....it does rattle on a bit. It IS more tolerable now. That's still enough though thank you!"

I met the old guy who sits by the boat house just on the start of his walk.
" morning! " he said. " yer seen the ducks? Ah seed the swans so them's okay...t'ducks got eaten....eye them's little uns un all. Swan ate 'em....Saw Swan w' little un in its beak drownin' it. That's nature fer yer....."
" I only just got here....bit later today"
"All gone them ducks. Got eaten. Swan's thought they were a threat. ate 'em. Spiteful buggers swans"
There were loads of people about with dogs. It was cold and I had on my faithful flip flops. I also put on a poncho that I got for 99p from the junk shop in Otley. I knew it would come in handy!!
Some people were stopping to watch the smoke on the water......it does not really show up in my first photos from this side of the Tarn.....but started to develop really quickly and change the view.
I thought that would be it....a beautiful layer of white mist .....
The sun was well up by now ....
yesterday was a really really hot hot hot day. last night was very hot too. all the windows and doors open kind of thing with the smell of barbecued food wafting in. Yorkshire has gone bonkers for burnt and half cooked food. Anything on a barbecue.....well if you can't beat em....and all that. So I dragged out our barbecue...and insisted that it was mended.
We have used it once and then one leg fell off it. .....

So on I walked. Now the different photos begin. These are different to any others I have taken so far....
I am sitting doing this blog it is now about 8.30 and the sun is burning through. another red hot day. A barbecued lunch then!!!! .....patchy mist and low cloud forecast on the radio. I do not think so.....
Down around the bottom part of the tarn where all the fish live......
Does not look very smoky does it? well it was. these photos look quite clear....
So I walked.......I contemplated the Stalker man. I am being followed and haunted by a customer from "work". As I work a lot less hours now he has come looking for me outside of the supermarket. I should add here that a lot of customers are weird or strange or "alternative characters" . This is perfectly fine at the supermarket. A laugh and a joke and a chat is all it takes. However it is a whole different scenario when that weirdo is knocking on your door or helping himself to entering your decking when hanging out the washing!!!
Last week he was doing silent watching. This week he asked "We have not fallen out have we?"
Answer...." Damn right we have. You came around to my house...."
" I wanted you to have the photo of the swan..." he said offended and walking off in a huff.
He went through the till behind me. I am told he spent the whole time watching me.....
So I walked on. I am not back into work until Friday night. I am not going to let all this ruin a truely beautiful day. Apart from that...if he gets rumptious which we all know is the next stage...I will just deck the bastard. So be warned. The police can not do anything and nor can security at work because he has not actually done anything. ....
Right! so back to what we came here for....a walk around the Tarn on a gorgeous morning in June.....
So now we really get to see the smoke on the water.
Stunningly beautiful. Most people had just stopped to watch.
I took loads of photos and a video.....I have only used a few.
More tea...and then I get to read this to Lee. He always asks .....and has gone to make tea specially.
By the time I got back to the jetty where I started...there really was not a lot to see....

The Canada geese thought so too.....

A whole different world it turned into by the time I set off back home.
