Otley.

Friday outing. Friday market in Otley. We noted the beautiful day and set off in the Fonz car with Monza in the back excited at the prospect of a drive past the Chevin. And more importantly fields full of sheep or cows. His fave are horses, though we do have to be careful passing horses on the roads as he likes to bark.
This Friday was a good day for pretty weather and the fact that I got paid. Money which magically appears in the bank account. We first went to a cash point a cued up with all the other people wanting cash to spend in the market and junk shops.

On the route around we stopped off at the church. Here are my fave effigies of all time. the Fairfax family memorial......

The golden eagle...
The alter stained glass....

This week we had the church all to ourselves and the sun streamed through the windows and reflected on the walls......

Afterwards we went to the old Arcade to the curiosity shop....Most of the stock is there each time I visit. This week I went with the idea of buying something....I always want to but will not pay the prices!!!There are some 1960s dolls.....tiny tears types....over priced........so we moved on to the twenty pence shop.
" Everythings 20p till I get fed up!" said the owner of the business.
"how much fer this?"
"20p. everything is 20p. yer want a bag fer that? everything you see is 20p."
"'ow much?"

it being a Friday and a market day the place was stuff packed with a bussell of people .We found nothing to buy until I heard Lee ask if anyone had a hand wipe.
Lee had found a grease gun in amongst some rusty tools and curiosity led him to dismantle it to see how it worked......The last owner had left it full of mechanical grease which Lee then became covered in. ....And yes he bought it for twenty pence. He had never seen the like before and as he will tell you....he has worked in many a muck filled garage in his time......so we think it is from the 1940s possibly from one of the factory's producing planes.

Then our luck changed and we found A Bratz radio car and two monster high dolls......
              So that was Friday.

Now we are Saturday .

These pictures were taken on the way out to night at about 5pm......

heading into the centre of Yeadon.
