Today , Today is December

It looks freezing cold. It is freezing cold. I know I was up at midnight and 3am. and it was cold both times. I put the heating on and rattled about putting up more Christmas and started knitting again. There is no way I can safely go out and take photos in this !
It tried snowing Yesterday and it is going to have another go any time now. The weather forecast is filled with picturesque white covered roads and coastal resorts. The roofs outside are sparkling white. That I suspect is frost and frozen rain at the moment. It is coming so hang on there.
Today the chimney sweep comes to inspect the site for wood burner fitting. so with that it will definitely snow at about the time he arrives at 9am.......
" indubitably!" stated Lee as he watched Utube....today it is a house being built from timber.....and a bloke talking about....er something blokey. It is not yet 7am....so we had yet more tea and a yogurt this time. Monza continued to doze. He is rightly  in no hurry at all.
it is Friday night now and the day has been filled with excitement. That would be excitement to us....not a general excitment on the scale of the world just a pleasant day kind of excitement.
The chimney sweep came to see my chimney, woodburner and assess the situation with a view to putting in the woodburner......I made him a cup of tea and he measured up and inspected the damage from the fire. It is all booked for the 19th of December to have a new woodburner installed and the chimney properly lined.

Then we went out into the moody world and walked Monza dog  which is where I took these photos and then over to Otley for our Friday forage through the junk shops.
The weather is still verging on inclement and there is snow all along the coast and alot of North Yorkshire....we have white roofs and frozen ponds and at dawn the world is white. very very VERY cold. the Fonz car has been wrapped in a blanket at night as he takes so long to defrost.
There was not alot different to be found in the junk shops and I remembered a lot of the stock from my last visit. The Victorian arcade is almost exactly the same. The same dolls in the same display.....still tempted I am........so we headed through the victorian arcade where it is possible to pop out of a fire door into the street by the church.
We did that and then through the grave yard short cut
into the church. Once inside it was too late....and we realised that there was some kind of guided tour we had crashed. Could have been much worse as there was a coffee morning going on in the vestry. We now have to watch out for getting roped into this kind of thing as I have white hair and might get mistaken for an old person in need of tea and sympathy.
The guided tour as it turned out was all about the stained glass windows.....as the person talking was going on about stained glass techniques I gathered it was some kind of art class for adults...
I stuck around and learned some new things.
for example....this window behind the alter cost £150.00 in 1851 and to restore it in 2001 it cost £72.000.

We came out of the church and went straight to the 20pence shop then to buy the inevitable chocolate eclairs for lunch.
Not the kind of day to hang around the market square so we ate them on the way back in the Fonz car.

once home I discovered that the post man had delivered some dresses and fur coat that I intended for my Marilyn doll and Elizabeth Taylor doll.
I busied myself dressing them and then hid them from myself for wrapping up for Christmas
