In for Christmas.

The new wood burner is now properly installed. The company I used from Harrogate sent in a totally different guy this afternoon and he finished the job and signed it off as a professional installation.
The service and advice I thought I was paying for were finally delivered

We lit it last night for the first time. Lee did the honours.  And yes it kicks heat out like a red devil. Just what we wanted just when we needed it.

.
And yes it is huge. I wanted to make a feature of it and I certainly achieved this me thinks.
This is the old one, which caused the chimney fire and is to be retired to the workshop.....There is no heat out there currently, so with a big restoration it will be ideal.

It is now "frantic Friday" Three days before Christmas day. The radio says to set off early to where ever you want to go.......so that is what we will do. Er hang on. Where do we need to go?

So Lee lit the wood burner and Monza dog ignored all the excitement and ate his dinner.

After all this I have decided not to complain about the swearing and profanity involved in the fitting of this wood burner. I simply will not recommend this company and will get another company to sweep the chimney in future. It is done. walk away and carry on with Christmas....And when father came over...he went into a long diatribe about what I should say. So this really decided me........also if you want something .....do it for yourself ....
So here it is Merry Christmas.
Father came over to "bring Christmas" and stayed for a coffee. He brought an envelope containing two other envelopes addressed to Lee. and Sally with money inside. Oh and a card written from "Dad and Sue" in his writing.
So I was right about Christmas presents and had taken the precaution of buying myself a doll last week. I donated my part of the money to Lee as I do not care any more.
Monza dog was given a ten pound note too. Have you ever seen a dog be presented with a ten pound note? well this one just tilted his head questioningly and then watched to see what would happen. Got bored ...laid down and put his head on his paws.
That was that. Christmas was not mentioned. I knew it would be a downer. It is over now and really

That was THAT!!!!!
So waiting for the light to come up. walk Monza dog and then get some "bits and bats" from Kirkstall. We had the idea to go to Ilkley and Otley...realised that it is three days before Christmas and being heralded as "mad Friday" ....so we changed our minds as the world will stop rushing around like Armageddon is burning their tails and then life will be back to calm junk shopping .

Mad friday? this is when everyone knocks off early from work and goes out to get plastered , fall about in the gutter, wear tiny amounts of clothes and freeze to death out in the Yorkshire clean very fresh air.....turn blue, with the potential of adding to the load at Accident and emergency department.

I am at work until 10pm to night so my customers will be the blue minimum dressed drunky skunks out for the celebration. So witness it all I can and wear a silly head dress of a Santa hat and my Christmas jumper from a junk shop I can...
