5am. freezing cold. The day before the new wood burner is fitted. Ha! I bet you thought I was going on about the time of year again. Well I am, but not yet. The new wood burner finally goes in tomorrow. We have been nearly two years without and have just paid..... alot ...........of money to put on the heating. we have a pay metre......... so no money no heat........ simple as that.
It was even more simple with a working wood burner as we only ever used wood and fuel we "found".....so really looking forward to this we are.
So Ding dong it is nearly Christmas. Possibly time to think of Christmas past and all the people who are not here any more and remember "all the good times".
Why do we do this? I got to really hate Christmas doing just that. remembering..... what I had and times long gone...like Christmas as a child. My dad killed himself in a car wreck just before Christmas one year. That crapped it up totally from then on. The amount of people that drag around a similar story this time of year is a very lot....winge about it both in person and on line too.
Fifty six years. so that would be fifty six Christmas's then. you would hope I had got some idea how to get it right by now.
So if you have a sob story about your Christmas theory do not come to me. I really do not care about your opinion or sad regrets.
This year I have bought a turkey and some sprouts and intend cooking a proper Christmas dinner followed by Christmas pud and ice cream. Then watch a Christmas movie, eat Thorntons chocolates and unwrap all of the presents I have bought Lee, Monza and mostly myself.
Then when the day is over go to sleep. The next day I can wake up and it is all over and move on.
One day. that is all it amounts to. This year the plan is enjoy and then walk away.
So I am here in bed with my feet under a warm Monza dog waiting for the world to light up and drink tea.
Knitting Barbie clothes to fill time whilst I do not sleep and waiting for the day that the new wood burner is fitted. I have a long day at work today...so that fills out the time nicely.
So presents wrapped. food bought and stashed in the new freezer. wood burner fitted tomorrow. Father coming over day before Christmas eve and no mention of Christmas....so all is going well. stick with the plan and then move on.
Father is giving us "money"....I anticipated this and have bought a present for lee and I to save disappointments....
