We are watching Die Hard movie from 1988. 1988!!!??? yep nineteen eighty eight. Always a fave for many Christmas's in those days. Those days are long gone and the movie is still damn good for a Christmas eve sitting by the new wood burner eating jelly baby snowmen.

I put on the slow cooker this morning containing a meat and kidney stew and turned on all the tree lights before I left the house. I passed a manager on the way home this evening knowing my dinner was cooked and the wood burner would have heated the house all cosy like. I asked how long the managers would stay this evening and was told as long as it takes. I felt fleetingly sorry for them then remembered I did not like numpty useless bimbo anyway. Merry Christmas I said as I trotted home.

We ate our stew whilst watching the first part of the movie and then some trifle followed by a very lot of jelly baby snowmen whilst eyeing up the Thornton's Christmas selection. Monza made light work of some Chicken and doggy biscuit seconds.
The movie stood the test of time and I think has never been bettered yet......I think we should watch it all again. some stuff I had forgotton.....like Yipeekiai motherfucker and the great explosion when the lift shaft goes bang.........
And that was that for Christmas eve. Simple but effective.
The day arrived at about 4.20 this morning and I got the turkey out to defrost along with the prawns for the traditional Yorkshire prawn cocktail. A kick back to the good old 1970s that has never stopped kicking. Put White Christmas on the DVD player...yes again and put on the new pink kettle to make tea.
I will make up a prawn cocktail for the humans and a simpler " dogtail" for Monza dog a bit later.

By 8am it was nearly light so we could see the right mess we made with wrapping paper and dog toys all over the bed. There was plenty of paper as Lee had five combat trousers slippers pyjamas a starwars dressing gown and some t shirts and a drone to unwrap.....there were also approximately another seven dolls too......Monza piled onto the bed with a selection of squeeky toys and the mayhew ensued.
after breakfast we took Monza to the old grave yard and then a quick visit to surprise view on the Otley Chevin. The old grave yard was more like a supermarket car park. There were people and dogs all over paying their Christmas respects to the dead, planting flowers gifts and chocolates on graves.....yes really. Monza found the chocolates.......so I expect all dogs do the same. bit daft really.
I took two of my new dolls along....Raven Queen and a Shibajuku doll........
It looks warm and beautiful as days go. It was in fact very windy and beautiful. I have been bought a new mobile phone and was using it as a camera. it damn nearly got ripped out of my hand by a rowdy gust.
There were people and dogs all over the Chevin as well......

Monza dog still had some presents to open and on arrival home he ferreted them out and chewed them up whilst making yet more ripped up paper piles.

I put on dinner into the big fan oven. I then took dinner out of the big fan oven and put it in the smaller oven that works.
Eventually we got our turkey, vegetables Yorkshire puds and gravy. I did mashed potato as well but there was no way it was fitting on the plates.

We lit the wood burner and watched singing in the rain. . Which left us with the problem of which Thorntons chocolates to eat first from the "Christmas limited edition " box.

After dinner we ate half a Christmas pudding and custard whilst watching Home Alone.

Monza ate his dinner in double quick time then gave ours his woofy Jedi glare, and magically digested ours as well.
There is an ad on the telly in the break from the movie stating that Next sale starts at 6am boxing day.
What is the matter with people!? a half price sale???
as Lee so eloquently puts it half price expensive is still expensive.

I have boxing day off as well. we did the phone call from father and I was handed to his wife for a "chat" we have not actually laid eyes on her since 2014 when I served up home made wine. it was disgusting mind. did the trick though.
