Cold. Ice. Snow. All very beautiful and a total insanity to walk over. We walked Monza dog. Me shuffling along behind in massive white moon boots trying not to look too decrepit and Monza dog who has four paws and is insulated by a rug coat bounced Lee along without a care in the world.
We had all types of fancy plans as to where to go. My daftest idea was taking some Lord of the rings figurines to Spofforth castle ruins to photograph. This is before we discovered the black ice on country roads out that way which go un gritted. The Fonz car is already a dinted wreck but there was no reason to add to the damage for a few photos and a trip to some charity shops.
So we went on main roads today and settled on Pudsey as a fairly safe option.
Pudsey park first and then the charity shops.
after going to the huge American based supermarket where we bought Lee's step mother a birthday present.
our options for this present have been drastically reduced, as she is now on a permanent diet and does not drink, smoke or eat chocolate. She has a fascination for pink and bling, jewellery and hand bags. As she had a clear out and dumped most of it on us These things are not a viable option now. so Father gave us very strict instructions......a plant that will live. So I bought a planter of stuff that grows this time of year.......
That done off we set to charity shops,
The light today was totally beautiful....This is looking towards the Otley Chevin......
Monza dog was also very beautiful. He always is but the snow added to it.
It looks so fabulous. very very slippery.....
Coming back from Pudsey.....towards Guiseley on the way home.
We bought the obligatory Christmas sandwiches and chocolate eclairs for lunch and ate them as we drove home throught the beautiful winter light.
As I have to be up very early tomorrow and out before dawn I am writing this now and finishing it off in bed with my feet on a warm hotty water bottle. Lee and Monza are already a sleep as if I am up so are they.
I am out until lunch time. Father is coming over to collect Mother in laws birthday present .I will miss him this week. So it is up to Lee to deal with Father, the present giving and take delivery of a new freezer we ordered on Sunday.
