Some raggy dolls that I have made here today. I came up with a plan. The plan is this. Set up handmadedoll.co.uk again. a new beautiful website to sell my raggy dolls. Where did it go? I hear you ask. Well it just got closed down. I stopped making dolls and got ill. Then I tried starting to make dolls again and found they did not have the same "magic" as the ones I made previously.
This Christmas I am going to have a look at some of my old designs and then come up with some more new dolls.
This of course lets me into shopping for fabric which of course will be the spark that lights the fire which hopefully will turn into an inferno......
Alice and mad hatter raggy dolls made from calico and paper with wool hair.....
A knitted white rabbit ( from a vintage Alan Dart pattern) The mad march hare here is made from painted calico.......
A witch raggy doll here with enormous velvet shoes. made from calico and a black cat print fabric with her black cat. The doll is from a Kat Kosch pattern and the cat is one of my own patterns...yes I made and sold them as well......Lee had my website all set up so that it sent them out as downloads as soon as payment was recieved...all clever stuff.
Painted calico. using acrylic paints mixed with glitter.....
Some more large raggy dolls I made ....these three were all my own patterns and designs......
Chestnut junction prim folk art pattern.....one of the first prim dolls I made.....
a prim folk art witch doll from my own pattern using calico aged and stained with coffee....love making these dolls and the dress was a recycled scarf from a junk shop.....
From a Threadbare primitives pattern...the cat is one of my own...I had a great line in cats as raggy dolls...
halloween from Chestnut Junction patterns......
Raggys from my own patterns...the lady with the fangs!!!!wow. I had forgotten about her...
Cute witch
As I say...a great line in cats I had.......
Whitby witches......
Cute little raggy doll. one of the first of my cute ones...a bit punk the started to be...
Then I started to get into tattooed raggy dolls. I was very influenced by a tattooed shrunken head in Whitby museum....brought back on one of Captain Cook's voyages it was. well creepy. I made a drawing of it which I no longer have and sent it out as a Christmas card........yep I used to make them too.
Otley Chevin rabbits........Made and designed by me from aged and stained calico......
This baby goth!!!!!......
So the plan is set. Lee is building me a new website and I am getting out my patterns and shopping for fabric......Yes I know I have a stash, but I still want more!
It is Saturday just before Christmas 2017 and every where we plan on going today is already stuffed with madness so after walking Monza it is a day at home away from the Christmas madness. This ruins it all for me. I have already bought too much as it is.
Even a new freezer to house all the food.....there are two of us and a big dog to feed for one day!!! I
have enough for 100 for a whole week. Mind you I have forgotten to stash chocolate eclairs...
