The view from my kitchen window.
Last year I had lots of pots of pink geraniums. Pink geraniums are really pretty, but I suppose a bit predictable and boring. Especially for a lady of "my age". So this year I am having a new design feature of car parts and engines.
David who lives next door is favourably of the same mind set and considers a garden space a space for working on car projects and is not into geraniums or pots of any description as far as I can see, so this year I am just going with it.
I do after all is said and done have a log cabin and big garden out the back where I can put my geraniums and pots of pansies.
Early afternoon it was after much rushing about to get the dog walk done and take a load of accumulated crap to the tip in the Fonz car. Lee bought the engine and arranged for delivery from Manchester. The "crap" had to go to make space,,,,,all stuff that should have been dispelled long ago. There were old pots. garden ornaments rotten decking....So it is time for a garden redesign anyway. That will be an entirely different blog as I have my eye on some new trees and plants too.
David was outside working on one of his cars this morning. His fave had a ghastly failure and had to be towed from the road side to home at great expense. So these two other cars are his. It just looks like a garage forecourt, it is actually a private road leading to what could be my pretty garden..
The fenix car as this one is now named after "the pheonix who rose from the ashes" kind of thing.
This is a Vauxhall Frontera four wheel drive with a very noisy engine. I bought this for Lee as his birthday present this year for a project "fixer upper" and subject for his Utube channel.
Lee's youtube channel This is a link to Lee's very own Utube channel and the Fenix car and all the mechanical s and carry's on will be on this. As I write this 15th March 2018 ...I know he has filmed the first bit but do not think it is up yet, so keep checking back.
David was already out fixing up his precious Peugot 306 GTI and when Lee told him all about the engine delivery he paused for a moment and said "eye. we'll strip it down in a bit. I got te go out fer a bit. we can get it in't garage some how."
Parts of the decking were dismantled to fit in the Fenix car and this is now where he lives.
The new engine arrived from Manchester with just a driver and two old wheels to balance it on.
"have yer got an engine lift?" asked the driver
"yep. only it is still in David's cellar" said lee who had been expecting this thing at least on a wooden palette.
So It was delivered. And it sat in the middle of the terrace. Lee started to strip it down as it is so heavy there was not a hope it was moving at all. Then Lee and David moved it under cover much later on.
The guy in the photo is the driver who delivered it, He said that he had done his job and promptly got back into his car and went back to Manchester.
To day is now the day after the engine delivery and we are up early as it is Lee's big hospital visit today.
We are going to Chapel Allerton hospital for scans, Xrays, blood tests and anything else they might need to try and medicate Rhumatoid Arthritis which has become very active in Lee at this stage.
He is to start new medication and so need everything recorded so they know exactly what is going on and can ajust it acordingly. to day we go for all the scans and x rays before the meds begin so there is a clear idea of what they are dealing with.
The Fenix car's restoration has begun.
The engine needs to be replaced. all types of things do not work correctly another load of stuff does not work at all! so this will be an on going project for some time yet. If you are needing technical news of this I recommend watching the youtube video as Lee is doing the voice over and does understand it all.
on the other hand if this is just enough information...there you go!
