The reason this blog exists was so that I could sell my raggy dolls and patterns. As I do not very often make dolls any more and my website is gone now.....everything else then established its self on here....like Monza dog and Rusty van and now the Fonz car all took over where the dolls left off.
It is raining yet again. The really irritating kind that goes away and then I put the washing out thinking it is a lovely hot summer day and then whallop! it is raining again.....Should know by now not to be fooled. But I keep on hoping that it will be okay. So far the washing has been rewet and dry five times so far this week...same last week........So we planned to go to a car boot sale. The idea only got as far as the planning stage as we took Monza for his walk and lost the will to swim/walk/wade.....took him home to dry him out then lost the will to look for junk at car boot sales.
serious stuff. I thought once that the day I do not want to look for junk will be the day I die. Before that it used to be the day I do not want to drink wine is the day I die. obviously untrue as I survive perfectly well without either. So I made a doll....this has now made me want to make some more ......
She is to be a folk art primitive raggy doll. My fave kind to make. So far I have made, stuffed and stained the main body......The clothes I am making out of old baby clothes I bought for 25p in a junk shop. just cutting out the cute patterns and stitching them up as dress and bloomers....hair? wool from the stash and painted face.
I have stained and baked the body whilst I cooked dinner. Lee could not resist the...

I remember those days, too... when I had doll bodies in the oven... and once started a fire in the microwave with some doll part!!!! I discovered dolls I made years ago in an attic space today.. I have no idea how they landed up in there.. ha!
