mostly we had it all to ourselves. over in the distance I could hear others. If I could hear them Monza would have known the second we drove up. We let him off his lead...and he still stuck to Lee and kept rounding me up as I was slower today. My balance is way off so I tottered along like a funny old bag in my blue trainers.
The others in the woods turned out to be a professional dog walker with three dogs all off the lead so we had to take other paths and cut back along the moor land at the top.
Monza just padded along without a care in the world.......
a beautiful sunny day in July. Muddy in places after the rain. But easy to avoid in my old blue trainers. I found them in the Fonz car...just my size and already knackered so the mud did not matter much. I brought sandals to change into for visiting Ilkley town.
We quickly followed the dry stone wall back to the road as the others were catching up now. I told Monza not to wait and go back to the car....
He did not listen! he still waited for me shuffling through the twigs and mud....
We came out of the woods to this view.
Monza and Lee got back in the car....I walked a bit further along as I had spotted a house.....
This is the house in the woods I spotted along with a stream.....
The dog walking lady put all her dogs into the car. By now Lee had parked just by and all the dogs went off into a flurry of barks.
Very quiet it was up to that point.
So I quickly took some pictures and then we set off to the town. we passed two walkers holding maps and another dog walker. probably going to the swastika stone.
In Ilkley we did are usual round of charity shops and Bettys tea rooms window display........
Fat rascals yorkshire tea a marzipan yorkshire farm complete with farm animal biscuits....
