To the woods in the mist

Last night it was hot. We stayed out in the log cabin for ages. then sleepy time kicked in. A bit of fresh air in the sunshine and we were knackered.....
I like these photos of Lee and Monza so I am using them all......
We made a plan for this day. To the woods.....
The morning is misty and slightly damp. So misty I did not go out early. Very romantic it looks but nothing can be seen. The airport does not even work in these conditions. We promised Monza a walk in the woods....so this he will have. The good part about misty rain is that it is cool....so that means ......Charity shops!!!!
so  toThe Fonz
We languished in bed until all of 8am! so by the time we drank tea and had a yoghurt the mist was clearing nicely. we set of in The fonz and walked Monza first in the old grave yard. The airport was up and running with the red lights glowing on the run way. Planes were taking off every few minutes......

Lee is always fascinated. Monza could not give a stuff and just plans his next biscuit. whilst looking to make sure we are all following on.there was no one else in the graveyard as all the plane spotters were the other side of the wall photographing and waving to the planes as they took off.

we went back to the Fonz and set off immediately to the woods at Ilkley. The plan was to miss the dog walkers we encountered last week.....This we did and the only encounter we had was with birds singing.
This time we went straight upwards and then across the top to the gates onto the moor. We have been here a few times now and have a planned route and another plan in case we see anyone else.
After half an hour it started to rain. This was not too bad as the trees sheltered us on our way back down to the Fonz.
We let Monza off his lead as I was confident that no one else was around... he was not to keen and hung by Lee just as if he was still on his lead.
He kept checking that we were still there too....All quiet in the woods this week. we had the whole place to ourselves.

Just as well we had the woods to ourselves as I took along two pixiefairy dolls....
The photos turned out really well.
Parts of the woodland path was still ,muddy from the rain last week.....I nearly slid over in the old trainers. I am not used to them....I wear flip flops usually
The end of this weeks wood walk as it started to rain. We went home up past the cow and calf rocks.
The Fonz struggles with hills. Lee has taken the back seats out to make room for Monza. Fonz is a little more spritely up the hills but not much.

the view as we come out of the woods to the Fonz car...
The Fonz then made it as far as the car park by the Cow and Calf rocks. Lee parked up and I walked back to take these photos. Monza desperately wanted to get out with me...there were sheep by the side of the road....so that was a no.

Since loosing Rusty van we have not been this way. In Rusty van it was a smooth journey which seemed effortless. In The Fonz it is very different lumpy bumpy affair as there are speed bumps that we did not even know existed......and we have to do what they are designed to do...slow right down. In Rusty van lee just floored the accelerator and straddled the bumps......
As we were going so slowly we practically stopped. So Lee pulled into this old pub. I always wanted to stop here. The Hermit! every other time we were going too fast for me to get any decent photos...
So here they are after all this time. Ten years I think we have been past this one.
Another place to bear in mind for lunch.......

And so home we went via Guiseley as we needed dog biscuits. very specific dog biscuits. The only type Monza will eat are the ones we took him to Dogs Trust when we adopted him. Now he will not eat any other.
We quickly checked out the charity shops too. I had word yesterday that a Yeadon charity shop was getting some dolls so I went to check on them afterwards too.

Tomorrow is another day. We are planning a different walk over in Otley.
