Something a bit different today. Black and white grainy photos on a dull raining miserable kind of day.A day off and what we really wanted to do was take Monza out in The Fonz car and walk in the woods.
So hey ho! we parked up in Otley having been battered the whole way there by torrential rain. The Fonz is a good little car and does not leek like Rusty van did. Monza loves the Fonz as Lee took out all the back seats and lined it with blankets and cushions. Monza is a huge dog and can stretch out to fill capacity as we buzz along taking in the views and barking at other dogs out on the pavement.
We came down the very steep Chevin...mist and rain hung in the clouds forming a dragons breath over the whole area.
We were quick. Though we still got soaked. We went to the victorian covered market..........
I checked out the "old curiosity shop" this stall looks a lot like my house and carries a selection of scary vintage dolls. This day I was looking for just that....as I have started collecting 1950s and 1960s type tiny tears dolls. This day she did not have any......I am fussy about the faces...and not too keen on porcelain. Having said that it is the really horror movie evil looking scary dolls i do not like especially if they have human hair. I get freaked about that. Funny am I not!?
There is a lovely coffee shop. I would love to stop here one day. As the weather was so bad everyone else had the same idea.
There are a lot of new stalls now. mostly selling vintage clothes and artifacts........and a paper stall...selling all kinds and colours of paper and books....
still raining when we came out onto the street again. we carried on reguardless and finished all the charity shop bought sausage rolls.....
Ate sausage rolls in the covered seats by the market........the market stalls were out. All two of them. Which is a sign of the weather conditions. a fruit stall and a junk stall selling soggy dog beds and old bits of tourist brass.

Charity shops 99p shop and 20p shop ! I got quite a haul this week in the rain.
From the 20p shop I got.....an info pack from the Royal Armouries about the civil war........tourist book from Benhiem Palace......Giant landscapes of the Yorkshire dales.....town and country book of Yorkshire.....a NEW Bond book.....all for "20p each" oh and I got a metal candle holder too
And from The Mind shop on the way back to The Fonz I found this beauty. Just what I was looking for! a Palitoy 1950s black doll complete with knitted outfit.
Where she joined her new friend in the bath.
This is my first black doll of this type. I have raggy dolls that I have made. This is very special
What a find.
she has 8401335 on the back of her head and has a face very like tiny tears. there are no other markings.
So here we are. i have taken out Monza dog who was waiting for me to go out early this morning.
It has dawned as quite a different world to yesterday. The sun is out and it is gettong hot already. Monza wants to go to the woods.
So lets go!
