The arty stuff. Rescue dolls...more junk and a boiler technician

Father in law has just phoned. He wanted to know what happened with the boiler techno bloke.

The boiler technicians turned up just as it was getting dark last night. The boiler is having an extreme health defect. It may die. ......No boiler, no hot water. Not to mention no heating, I can live with no heat. No hot water for a shower I can not live with out. As it is my day at the junk shop, radical action was taken on my hair in the kitchen with a kettle. I looked okay when I left the house......more luck than anything.

Anyway boiler guy had to go buy a new part for the wayward boiler, and he then fitted it. He was very confident.

damn thing still did not work. He went home defeated after 2 hours. First thing in the morning he was back....He had inspiration in the night. He had put on a tube upside down...or something. Kept him awake it did. He fixed that boiler in 10 minutes flat. We were so happy we did not care about the cost...which really was not that much. 

we went to Otley to do the junk shops and buy some "Otley dragon sausages" to celebrate.

 
No really Otley has a specialist butcher and they make sausages out of Dragons. Yes there are still dragons in Otley. Though at the rate these sausages sell it will not be long until they are extinct. THE breath can be seen in the mornings walking on the Chevin over looking a huge valley. Yes they are very real....Dragons are slightly tasting of Chilli too. bet you did not know that. These sausages give the ability to breath fire.

The boiler has been explained to Father.  I were bothered....he said...ahhh will pay fer it gettin' mended. yer want te find the silly bugger who put it in...a right cowboy he were........look at the spagetti he calls pipework! I could er done a better job wi' lego.......

Here in Yeadon  the wind has dropped. We had bad weather warnings and advice not to drive. in fact really do not drive in high sided vehicles..... That would be a man with a van off the road then. This is my business. If my van got blown over...that is business over.

 we stayed at home.

The airport closed. Lee screwed the front door closed. This stopped it rattling. however we now can not get into the front porch......

after a little thought and fighting with the wind he screwed the fence back to the log cabin to stop it lifting. Both the fence and the log cabin started to lift. He then screwed that down to the log cabin and the fence to tarmac......

I got arty with photos of some of my rescue dolls...as above. A Barbie doll I made into Marie Antoinette. I made the dress from a skirt......I made the pattern up as I went along and hoped...
.I made under wear and padding to make the skirt stand out like a brush.....put padding under her hair...and bingo! there was Marie.
The guy is Gorgon from Monster High . I rescued him from a junk shop in Otley.....Any way the two have reached an understanding, and fancy the pants off each other. literally worlds apart are this pair. so it can work then.
so we have done the boiler part of this blog....covered the rescue doll angle. so now that leaves me with the junk part

www.vanandaman.co.uk got a few tip jobs lately. Mostly junk that the customer wants removing because they are clearing out, or moving. one persons treasure is another's junk. I love to rescue stuff and repupose it.....as we have to sort out stuff to take to the tip, we have to open all the bin liners.....toys!!!!!!! baby clothes.....paint....old games...nothing good...
I found a womble....an old looking teddy bear and a scooby doo. sadly everything else was mouldy. all gone to the tip. such a big pity..

So. we have a great dinner of sausage and mash, heat, and I can spend an hour in the shower.
 Womble and teddy are here to stay.
